Kohima, May 08 (NEx): The Health and Family Welfare Department on Saturday informed about a super-spreader event reported from a religious event held in Mon district of Nagaland between April 21 to 25, 2021.
The COVID-19 weekly bulletin issued by the Nagaland Health department on Saturday informed that, a Church revival camp held between 21st – 25th April 2021 turned into a super spreader event in Mon District as 45 persons who attended the camp have tested positive out of 69 samples tested, with a positivity rate of 65%.
Testing and contact tracing is still underway, it informed. The Mon district administration has directed all attendees to self-isolate and turn up for testing.
Social and religious events are high risk factors for such super-spreading events, State Health department cautioned.
