One person arrested for attempt to murder at Noklak

Kohima, January 30 (NEx): Noklak police arrested one person at Nokhu Village on January 29, 2021, for causing grievous hurt and attempt to murder of a victim while he was asleep at midnight.

According to the Noklak police, a case has been registered, vide case no.5/2020 Noklak Police Station. The alleged accused was arrested and forwarded to judicial custody, the SP Noklak Dr. Pritpal Kaur stated.

Narrating on the incident, the SP Noklak Police informed that a case was registered at Noklak PS on November 6th, 2020, that a person shot one victim named Mr. Heno on the face when he was asleep in his farm hut at Nokhu village in the middle of the night.

The accused reportedly shot the victim with his air gun in the midnight due to a personal rivalry and escaped into the darkness. The victim couldn’t see the accused as he was sleeping with a bedsheet covering his face.

The Bullet hit and passed out through the cheek and one ear of the victim who was later taken to CHC Noklak. A Case was registered vide c/no.5/2020. The police began investigation by preparing a special team of Noklak police station personnel.

Thereafter, all the sources were alerted and statements of the persons concerned were recorded extensively. The SP also said that all evidences and call data records were analyzed and after extensive investigation, the alleged accused was arrested on January 29, 2021, from Nokhu village and forwarded to Judicial magistrate first class Tuensang.

Meanwhile, the victim is recovering and out of danger, confirmed the Noklak Police.
