Kohima, May 12 (NE): After 68 days nationwide lockdown, Indian Railways started 100 special trains to be operational from today, ticket booking for this trains are available through IRCTC and at reservation counter.
‘JTTN – GHY Express Special Train’ (No: 02067/02068) between Guwahati and Jorhat Town is one among a pair of 100 special trains announced by Indian Railways to start its journey from today. This train is scheduled to run six days in a week except Sunday.
GHY – JTTN Express Special Train (Number: 02067), started from Guwahati in Assam at 06:30 am, the train will stop at Dimapur railway station en route for Jorhat Town. Scheduled arrival at Dimapur railway station is 10:43 am.
JTTN – GHY Express Special Train (Number: 02068), to start from Jorhat Town in Assam at 02:30 pm, the train will stop at Dimapur railway station en route for Guwahati. Scheduled arrival at Dimapur railway station is at 04:51 pm.
Earlier, Indian Railways started 15 special trains which were operational from May 12, 2020. A ‘Super Fast Special Train’ (No: 02424/02423) between New Delhi and Dibrugarh is one among the 15 special trains with en route stop at Dimapur railway station. This train operates seven days in a week.
During the boarding and traveling all passengers are to observe social distancing. Further, on arrival at their destination, traveling passengers will have to adhere to health protocols as prescribed by the destination state/UT.
After 68 days of nationwide lockdown, the Centre issued ‘Unlock 1’ guidelines paving the way for a phased re-opening of most activities across the country and limiting the lockdown only to containment zones for a month till June 30, states have been empowered to prohibit certain activities or put suitable restrictions if they deem it necessary for containment of COVID-19.
