Kohima, December 11 (NEx): One Kutcha house and a Government quarter were gutted in a major fire breakout in Lower Merhulietsa Colony in Kohima on Thursday, December 10, 2020.
The R.O (E), Fire & Emergency Services, Kenny Khing informed that on receiving a Fire call at 08:30 pm on Thursday, December 10, 2020 from Lower Merhulietsa Colony, Kohima, the Fire & Emergency Services mobilized a quick response team from Fire Station South and Fire Station North to control the fire.
He said that six Fire Tenders along with sufficient Equipments & Fire Personnel were pressed into action.
One Kutcha house and one Government Quarter were gutted and property worth 26.48 Lakhs approximately was lost in the inferno, the report said.
It took the Fire Team 1 hour and 19
minutes to combat the Fire. However, due to timely response from Fire Team, property worth 20 Lakhs could
be salvaged and also from further spreading to the surroundings.
Khing also informed that there was no casualty and the cause of fire is under investigation. The response team was led by Duty Commander, S.I Sevi Kera, ASI Hamjen Phom, ASI Dzesengutuo Keyho and ASI Hanso Khuing Limms.
Fire breakout at Mohonkhola in Kohima:
In another report on the same day, a Fire call was received at 09:25 am on December 10, 2020 from Mohonkhola, opposite ICICI Bank, Kohima and the Fire & Emergency Services mobilized a quick response team from Fire Station South to control the fire, informed Khing.
Accordingly, one Fire Tender along with sufficient Equipments & Fire Personnel were pressed into action. The Fire was brought under control due to timely response from Fire Team and from further spread to the surroundings, it said.
There was no casualty reported and the cause of fire is from LPG leakage. The response team was led by Duty Commander ASI Dzesengutuo Keyho, Khing added.
