Kohima, June 18 (NEx): The Odd-Even vehicular traffic rule has been extended in Kohima till June 30th, 2021. Earlier, the odd-even traffic rule was imposed till June 18, 2021, and as the State government extended the lockdown till June 30th, the district administration has also extended the traffic rule in it’s jurisdiction.
The Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, NCS, informed that the movement of private vehicles shall be allowed as per the existing Odd-Even system within the jurisdiction of Kohima Municipal Council, except on Sundays, and the order shall remain enforced till June 30th, 2021 for strict compliance of all concerned.
Odd Numbered vehicles:
On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, only vehicles with registration number ending with odd numbers – 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 shall be allowed to ply.
Even Numbered vehicles:
On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, only vehicles with registration number ending with even numbers – 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 shall be allowed to ply.
The order also said that violation of this directive shall be liable to penalty under Section 177 & 179 of the Motor Vehicles Act 1988.
