Odd-Even Traffic System Extended In Kohima Till August 1st

Kohima, July 17 (NEx): The Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, NCS informed that the ‘Odd-Even’ system for movement of private vehicles is extended under Kohima Municipal on all days except Sundays till August 1st, 2021.

The order came after the State government on Friday decided to begin Unlock 3.0 in the state of Nagaland for 15 days starting from July 18th to August 1st, 2021.

The DC Kohima informed that the movement of private vehicles has been implemented under Kohima Municipal Area as per Section 115 of the Motor Vehicle Act 1988, on all days except Sundays on Odd-Even basis.

Odd Numbered Vehicles:

On Mondays, Wednesdays Fridays, only vehicles with registration number ending with Odd numbers (Eg. 1,3,5,7,9) shall be allowed to ply.

Even Numbered Vehicles:

On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, only vehicles with registration number ending with even numbers (Eg. 2,4,6,8,0) shall be allowed to ply.

The DC also notified that violation of the Order will be liable to be penalised under Section 177 & 179 of the Motor Vehicle Act 1988.
