Kohima, June 11 (NEx): The Odd-Even vehicular traffic rule has been extended in Dimapur and Kohima till June 18, 2021. Earlier, the odd-even traffic rule was imposed till June 11, 2021, and as the State government extended the lockdown till June 18th, district administration has also extended the traffic rule in their respective jurisdiction.
The Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, NCS, informed that the movement of private vehicles shall be allowed to ply on odd-even system under the jurisdiction of Kohima Municipal Council except on Sundays.
Meanwhile, Dimapur police through an official tweet informed that the odd-even rule will continue till 18th June 2021 in the district.

ODD Numbered Days:
On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays only vehicles with registration number ending with odd numbers (Eg.1, 3, 5, 7, 9) shall be allowed to ply.
EVEN Numbered Days:
On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays only vehicles with registration number ending with even numbers (Eg 2, 4, 6, 8, 0) shall be allowed to ply.
The order is issued in exercise of the power under Section 115 of the Motor Vehicle Act 1988, and violation of this order will be liable to be penalised under Section 177 & 179 of the Motor Vehicle Act 1988, it cautioned.
