Odd-Even traffic rule in Dimapur extended till November 30

Dimapur, November 02 (NEx): The Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, Rothihu Tetseo, NPS notified for the extension of the Odd-Even traffic regulations for non-essential vehicular movement within Dimapur Town and NH-29 till Chumukedima town with effect from November 02, 2020 till November 30, 2020.

Odd number day:

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, only vehicles with registration number ending with odd numbers (1,3,5,7&9) will be allowed to ply.

Even number day:

Every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, only vehicles with registration number ending with even numbers (2,4,6,8 & 0) will be allowed to ply.

However, the restriction will not be enforced on Sundays, it said.

Vehicles exempted from the traffic regulation:

The notification also said that the category under essential services as notified earlier will be exempted. Further, Government servants on bonafide government duties and vehicles involved in providing essential services involved in COVID-19 related duties will also be exempted from the purview of the restrictions on production of relevant documents and valid ID proof. Two wheelers shall also be exempted from these traffic restrictions, added the CP.

Vehicles restricted to ply:

All heavy vehicles except those engaged in four lane construction work with valid permit will be restricted from plying within the town area and highway area from 09:00 hrs to 15:00 hrs.

Further, the CP said that Violation of aforementioned order will be penalized U/S 177 & 179 of the MV Act 1988 and appealed all citizens for cooperation in the interest of public safety.
