NSUD organizes 56th Nagas’ Meet at Talkatora Indoor Stadium

(The Naga Students’ Union Delhi organized its 56th Nagas’ Meet on November 5, 2019)

Kohima, November 9 (NE): The Naga Students’ Union Delhi (NSUD) organized its 56th Nagas’ Meet at Talkatora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi on November 5, 2019 with the theme, ‘Strengthening Identity & Unity’.

Shri Losii Dikho, Minister of PHED, Printing & stationery, Govt. of Manipur was the Chief Guest while Shri Temjen Imna Along, Minister of Higher & Technical education, Tribal Affairs, Govt. of Nagaland was the Chief Patron and Shri Keishiyo Keishing, MLA, Phungyar (ST), Ukhrul, Govt. of Manipur.

Special guests were Shri Jyoti Kalash, IAS, PRC Nagaland House, New Delhi, Shri Hibu Tamang, IPS, Addl. Commissioner of Police, Spuner, Delhi Police and Shri Kethosituo Sekhose, DRC Nagaland House, New Delhi. Special invitees include Churches, Naga lawyers Guild NSF, ENSF, ANSF, NSA, Etc

First session comperes were Tanem Towarshim Dangshawa and Rokovono Paphino. The second session compersy were Worleichon Shimray and Weitsii Zhaiveipao.

Crowning of Mr. & Ms. Freshers also took place at the meet where Elvis Chingpa H From Maram tribe was crowned Miss Fresher and Kholou David from Poumai tribe was adjudged Mr Fresher of the 56th Nagas’ Meet, NSUD.

NSUD President, Hinoto Awomi expressed gratitude for the pioneers whose dedication, hope and struggles created this milestone. And today inspired by their legacy we gather together to celebrate this great history and seriously reflect on our future. It is also a time of re-commitment to serve for the welfare of the students’ committee in particular and general public at large.

NSUD President further added, that the Nagas in Delhi holding a rally has become our trend of tradition for any reason. Whereas we failed to accept and acknowledge one another in brotherhood. Therefore let us not swap with the emotion that pierce the sentiments of other. The Bible says “What you sow is what you reap”. Therefore let us introspect that are we reaping a good fruit or the fruit of ism and division? Reminding all of us on this day to leave aside all our personal interests and stand unitedly for the greater cause of Nagalim.

The achievement of this great milestone shows the strength of the union. It is our prayer and hope that with the celebration of NSUD, under the theme: “Strengthening Identity and Unity” shall be excelling ourselves much more than we are, today, said the NSUD President.
