Kohima, October 02 (NEx): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) and the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) today announced that it will jointly be launching a phase wise agitation from October 12, 2020 against the state government’s failure to mainstream the SSA and RMSA teachers of 2010 and 2013 batches into the School Education Cadre even after a lapse of 2 years.
Addressing a press conference at the NSF office, NSF President Ninoto Awomi and ENSF President Sepili L. Sangtam informed that the state government had, in June 2018, signed an Agreement with the Nagaland Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers’ Association, NSF and the ENSF assuring to mainstream the 2010 and 2013 batch teachers under SSA and RMSA into state cadre. However, after a lapse of 2 years, the state government is yet to fulfill its part.
After reminding the government on several occasions, the two student bodies finally issued a 30-day ultimatum to the state government on September 02, 2020. The state government replied to the two organisations, stating that a meeting of the departments of School Education, P & AR, and Finance was held under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary on September 14, 2020.
However, not satisfied with the government’s response and following the expiry of the ultimatum today, the two federations after thorough discussion on the matter felt that it was just a “delay tactic” of the government. Asserting the seriousness on their ultimatum, the NSF and ENSF has decided to call for an agitation until the state government fully honours the Agreement of June 2018 and fulfills its assurance.
