Kohima, November 5 (NE): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) on Monday, November 4, 2019 issued a clarification in regards to the fake messages spreading through Facebook and WhatsApp about the Federation who has been accused of having ‘easy access’ to an internationally designated terrorist group, i.e. ISIS.
In a clarification letter issued by Dievi Yano, Vice President NSF and Liremo R Kikon, General Secretary, NSF stated that; NSF is deeply pained by a certain message doing the rounds in various social media groups (WhatsApp & Facebook in particular) wherein one of the former Presidents as well as the current President of the Federation has been accused of having ‘easy access’ to an internationally designated terrorist group, i.e. ISIS. The message went on to further state ‘as demonstrated in the recently conducted mass rally in Delhi’.
The federation would like to place on record that the subjected ‘message’ is nothing but a blatant lie created by unknown individual(s) with malicious intent to defame the leaders of the Federation and that the general public should not give any credence to it, stated in the clarification.
Further stated in the clarification, that the Naga Students’ Federation directs the creator(s) of ‘the message’ to come clean before the officials of the Federation within one week from the date of issue of this clarification, failing which, the NSF shall be compelled to pursue the matter by lodging a formal police complaint.
The NSF would like to further appeal to the general public to be mindful of various fake news doing the rounds in various social media groups and desist from blindly forwarding them, it added.
