Kohima, May 08 (NE): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) made an appeal to all concern for fee waiver from colleges/schools, and to waive off rent for tenants (particularly students), during the lockdown period.
A press release issued by NSF on Thursday said that as the nation enters lockdown 3.0 to combat the spread of COVID-19, the Naga society is faced with an economic crisis of unprecedented scale.
The NSF appealed the proprietors of schools and colleges to voluntarily come forward and frame modalities/ policies for fee waiver of students, also to the house owners to waive off rent of the tenants, particularly students for the duration of the lockdown.
The Federation appreciated those who voluntarily came forward to waive off the rent of the tenants for the entire duration of the lockdown.
The nationwide lockdown has been the cause of tremendous hardships to the students community in particular which can only be remedied by taking up extra-ordinary measures with the generous participation of the society at large, it added. The NSF further appealed the Naga people to extend all possible help to everyone in need in their own respective capacities, it said.
Also, it noted that the general public should not misconstrue ‘this appeal’, as its enforcement is at the sole discretion of those concerned.
