Dimapur, September 3, (NE): We have now known that it is more than ten lakhs persons name not found in the release of National Register Citizenship of India (NRC) list at Assam and what are we suppose to learn for eventuality is need of the hour. Hence, what Government of Nagaland to do as actions is required now.
NRC is an offspring created by an Agreement to what we know, Assam Accord, which is further oversee by the Indian Apex Court (Supreme Court of India).
Various civil society organizations including the students’ body (like NSF) among others are appealing the government to safe guard the citizens of the state.
It is very important in this juncture, that the government to come up with active measures before any eventualities may occur as more than ten lakhs of persons will have to under go from pillar to post for final rectifications to become an honory citizens of India through NRC in Assam.
Now, in a notification by Government of Nagaland, today instructed to be vigil in respective districts under Deputy Commissioner (DC); including the police in check post, etc.
The Government has also said to inform of any new tenants in respective DC for checking eligible documents, etc in identifying as a citizen of the country.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur has informed that Home Minister, Chief Secretary along with other officials will convened a meeting tomorrow at Conference Hall, DC, Dimapur from 11am onwards. For which, he invited the Chairmen/GBs of the ward/villages of the Sadar & neighboring villages to discuss the matter of NRC and implementation of ILP.
