NPF to organize state wide sit-in protest against CAA on February 11

Dimapur, February 5 (NE): Naga People’s Front (NPF) to hold a peaceful sit-in protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) on February 11, 2020 from 10 am to 2 pm in all the divisional headquarters in Nagaland, said a notification.

A notification issued by newly appointed NPF Secretary General, Achumbemo Kikon on February 5, 2020 listed the directives to be followed by party workers – Sit-in protest shall be purely non-violent and decent, No derogatory speech shall be made by any participants, No burning of effigies, No littering at the protest venue etc – are among the many directive.

As 5th session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly is set to commence on February 7, 2020 – Opposition party deciding to hit the steerts of Nagaland on CAA issues give a hint of a stormy session ahead this time.

Nagaland had already witnessed peaceful protests, bandh on the Citizenship Amendment Act called by different organizations and political party. It is important to see the impact of the protest called by the opposition party of Nagaland.
