Kohima, June 03 (NEx): In continuation to support and promote farmers at Noklak during the pandemic, Noklak Police in collaboration with KVK Tuensang provided ten (10) varieties of vegetable seeds and litchi saplings to farmers and SHGs of various villages of Noklak in coordination with tribal leaders including KTC president and KMH president.
Due to the lockdown and restriction in movements, there was a need to reach out to farmers and support them, hence, SP Noklak Dr. Pritpal Kaur said that she took the initiative to distribute the farmers with seeds and other logistics with the help of KVK Tuensang. Also, Thang Range Public Organization President Hangthing is helping in providing fish eggs/fingerlings to many far flung villages, traveling by himself despite all odds and following all the COVID-19 SOPs, the SP informed.
The SP also mentioned that support to farmers will continue in all other means and logistics whenever needed and possible as farming is an essential service. Moreover, many school dropout students are being provided support and help to enrol in entrepreneurship and farming to become self sufficient and for a better future.
As COVID-19 has also shown a pathway to self analyse and brainstorm oneself, the youth are motivated to pursue new arena of entrepreneurship via online counseling, the SP stated.
