Noklak celebrates National Unity Day by organizing a mini marathon for students

Kohima, October 31 (NEx): Noklak Police celebrated National Unity Day by organizing a mini marathon from Penshe ground to GHS Noklak for girls and boys separately, on October 31, 2020.

National unity day is celebrated on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel- the Iron man of India who played a crucial role in uniting India including 562 princely states.

The marathon was flagged off by SP Noklak, Dr. Pritpal Kaur IPS, with more than 100 students who participated in the marathon and cash prizes were awarded to winners for both male and female categories and certificates for all participants.

In boys category, Puto, Sangtsoi and Ngon bagged first, second and third positions respectively, whereas, Monglon S and Mutchiu S got consolidation prizes. Under Girls category, Tsuchoi T, Songmo P and Niansai got First, Second and Third positions respectively and Thongkoi T and Tongzen H received consolation prizes.

Winners were awarded cash prizes of rupees 2000, 1500, 1000, 500, 500 for first, second, third and two consolation prizes respectively, in each category of boys and girls.

SP Noklak, Addl. SP, SDO Civil, KMH member, Police Jawans, Medical and AYUSH Doctors, OST Centre Counselors, Red Cross Society, Teachers and Sports Council Members also participated in the marathon.

Unity Day pledge was read by SDO civil Noklak and a short speech was given be SP Noklak who explained on the significance of the day and said that this day is celebrated to emphasize on values of unity and integrity of the nation. She urged everyone to always work in unison and reminded that participation and completion of race is more important than winning. There may be falls or failures sometimes but we all should help each other and complete our race of life to achieve goals where we can serve society in a better manner, she added.

The program was chaired by Additional SP Shri Ngou and benediction prayer was read by ABSI Vihoto.
