'No one was asked to leave the meeting at any point' - DC Kiphire clarifies

Kohima, January 30 (NEx): Following various social media posts and press release circulating the information that an attendee was asked to leave during the Aspirational District Committee’ meeting, the Deputy Commissioner of Kiphire on Saturday clarified that, ‘no one was asked to leave the meeting at any point’.

The DC Kiphire termed it unfortunate that the misleading information has been circulated that an attendee in the meeting called to review the Aspirational District Program was asked to leave and also clarified that no one was asked to leave the meeting at any point.

The DC said that the district has made rapid progress in implementation of various projects and kick started stalled projects in the last two months. Detail report on activities and funds was presented for benefit of attendees. DC Kiphire also furnished the minutes of the meeting through its official social media handles.

The DC further stated that the misinformation is being spread without verification and appealed the general public to exercise due caution.

Earlier, the United Sangtam Likhum Pumji (USLP) condemned the alleged unethical and ignorant attitude of Deputy Commissioner towards USLP General Secretary during the ‘Aspirational District Committee’ meeting.

In a press release, USLP stated that the working relationship has been completely derailed between the administration, CSOs and the public of Kiphire district “due to the self style functioning of the incumbent DC”. The USLP further demanded that the officer be removed within 7 days failing which the USLP will initiate its own course of action.
