Kohima, June 15 (NE): Nagaland Government cracks the whip as over 1400 National Health Mission Employees goes for indefinite strike from Sunday, June 14, 2020 called by the National Health Mission Employees Association Nagaland (NEAN).
An order issued by Principal Director, Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland, Dr Vizolie Z Suokhrie directed the CMOs and Medical Superintendents to ensure that all the NHM employees attend their duties during this unprecedented COVID-19 crisis failing which necessary disciplinary action would be initiated.
Any GNM and ANM who fails to perform their duties from June 15 would be forfeited from the queue system/batchwise appointment into the regular post, ordered Suokhrie.
The PD also directed the district authority to submit the list of employees failing to report for their duties on June 15, 2020 by 01:00 pm through email.
The NEAN called for indefinite cease work from June 14, 2020 for the injustice and unfairness mended towards the National Health Mission (NHM) employees at the time of pandemic, citing the incident where 27 GDMOs who were appointed on contractual basis for a year on 27th May 2020, are regularized on the ground of constraint of Manpower to contain COVID-19 pandemic.
NEAN through a memorandum demanded three points for necessary action, which includes Regularisation of NHM employees, Parity of Pay (Equal Pay for Equal Work) with the State Health Employees of the same rank and all basic employees benefit to NHM employees in line with the State Health and Family Welfare Employees.
