Kohima, May 27 (NE): News bulletin from various sources and press releases by NagalandExpress on May 27, 2020 are as follows:

1. COVID-19 status update on May 27, 2020

Till date, a total of 1506 samples have been tested. Results of 1187 samples
have been received out of which 9 are positive. Results of 319 samples are awaited. Through the Truenat testing machine so far a total of 48 samples have been tested and 47 have come negative, while the result of 1 sample is awaited.

2. Tuensang police arrested one person for fake news circulation;

One person has been identified and arrested by Tuensang Police for circulation of false information (rumour) regarding running away of 3 returnees from Sao chang College (Quarantine Centre) Tuensang. Necessary legal action is being initiated against the same person.

Tuensang Police informed everyone to avoid rumours, as strict action as per law will be taken against rumour mongers.

3. Kohima Ao Baptist Church Contributes Rs 11 Lacs to Quarantine Centres

The Kohima Ao Baptist Church has appreciate the initiative taken by the state Government and the district administration in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Many stranded Nagas are returning back home and the Government have taken adequate measures to keep the returnees safe at the respective quarantine centers, a press release by the Church stated.

As a token of prayer and support under the ministry titled “Welcome Home Beloved Nagas, Kohima Ao Baptist Church COVID-19”has decided to contribute a sum of INR 11,00,000 (eleven lakh) (One lakh each for all the eleven districts of Nagaland) specifically towards the District Quarantine Centre management.

4. Donation for Nagaland House, New Delhi Emergency Centre

Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Tokheho Yepthomi has donated Rs.5,00,000/- (Five Lakh only) and also Dr. Longai Phom & wife Dr. Anungla Phom has donated Rs.50,000/- (Fifty thousand only) to Nagaland House Emergency Center Delhi, for providing rations and other emergency help to the stranded persons in Delhi and NCR areas.

So far, through Emergency center around 2100 persons were provided rations and also extended monetary support to around 50 patients. The Nagaland House Emergency Center Delhi expressed deepest appreciation to all the Donors and Supporters.

5. State Law & Order Situation Report on COVID-19

State Emergency Operation Centre COVID-19 Control room, Home Department has issued the report on Law & Order across the state as on May 26, 2020. Joint Secretary to the Government of Nagaland Hiazu Meru stated that, while remedial steps were taken against violations, 109 Vehicles were challaned under MV Act and imposed fines of Rs. 15,400 (Fifteen Thousand Four Hundred).
