Kohima, May 14 (NE): News bulletin from various sources and press releases by NagalandExpress on May 14, 2020 are as follows:

1. Briefing on COVID-19 on May 14, 2020 for Nagaland

The Principal Secretary, Home, Abhijit Sinha briefing on COVID-19 said that as of 4 pm today, a total of 891 samples have been sent for testing from the State. The results of 873 samples have been received and all have been tested negative. The results for the remaining 18 samples are awaited. In addition, a total of 20 samples have been tested by Truenat machine and all are negative.
Today, a total of 7,228 persons have been screened and a total of 348 persons are under Facility Quarantine.

2. Corrigendum to the minutes of meeting held on May 12 to discuss SOP for returnees to the state

In continuation to the minutes circulated on May 12, 2020, the following amendments are made:

-For persons returning from Orange and Green Zones, it was decided that they will be screened and if found to be asymptomatic, will be sent for 3 (three) days of Institutional quarantine and proceed for 14 (fourteen) days Home Quarantine, after necessary documentation and mandatory download of mobile app.

-For persons returning from Red Zones or crossing Red Zone areas en route to Nagaland, it was decided that they will be screened at designated Screening Facility at either Dimapur or Kohima and will undergo 14 (fourteen) days of Institutional Quarantine thereafter to be followed by 14 (fourteen) days of Home Quarantine.

3. Stranded people reaches Dimapur

At the time of filing this report, a total of 190 persons from Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Nogaon, Tezpur, Amguri and Arunachal Pradesh reached Dimapur by bus and private vehicles on May 13, 2020, out of which 93 were male and 96 were female. On arrival at reception center – Agri Expo Dimapur, all the returnees filled in the form with necessary details and proceeded for screening in the medical facility center before being assigned to designated quarantine facility centers.

4. DC Mon informs stranded persons

Deputy Commissioner, Mon Thavaseelan K, IAS issued an order in pursuance to the decision taken at the meeting held on May 12, 2020 in the Secretariat Conference Hall with regard to the SOP for returnees and as decided in the meeting of the Empowered Committee for Mon District. The order informed all returning stranded persons of Mon District that the designated point of entry into the District either by Rail, Air or Road shall be through Dimapur only.

5. DC Tuensang relaxes shop timings

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Tuensang Kumar Ramnikant has notified to all concerned that in the interest of public safety and health, and as decided in the meeting of the District Task Force on COVID – 19, the following shop timing relaxations are notified as below:

-All shops and business establishments within the jurisdiction of Tuensang Town Council which fall under the exempted category will remain open for public from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm only.

-Pharmacies and Petrol Pump may follow the regular timings.

This order comes into force with immediate effect and shall remain enforced till further order.

6. Legislators led by S. Pangnyu visits Pungro

Minister of Health & Family Welfare S. Pangnyu Phom, Minister of Soil & Water Conservation, Geology & Mining, Kashiho Sangtam, Advisor to IPR, SCERT & VG, Toshi Wungtung along with the Principal Health & Family Welfare visited Pungro Sub-Division on 14th of May 2020 to take the stock of the preparedness of COVID-19 Pandemic.

During the Official visitation, Phom interacted with the Medical Department and conveyed the satisfaction of preparedness with available equipments. He also appealed to the gathering to extend full cooperation to the administration and medical department. Later, the team headed to GA rest house for short interaction with civil societies where the meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Sarita Yadav IAS Kiphire.

7. Relocation exercise of stranded people in Kohima concludes

On the final day of the transportation exercise, May 14, 2020, the Kohima District Administration dispatched 12 buses to Mon carrying 279 passengers and 9 empty buses to Dimapur as requested by the Dimapur District Administration.

The relocation exercise of Stranded people in Kohima which started on 7th May 07, 2020 came to an end on May 14, 2020. The Kohima District Administration has worked tirelessly throughout the eight days and has facilitated the relocation of 4444 stranded people from Kohima to all Districts of the State and has dispatched a total of 166 buses in total.

8. Distribution of face masks and PPE suits

First Time Elected Minister from 30th Alongtaki Constituency who is the in-charges for HE&TE and Tribal Affairs GoN and also Nagaland State Unit BJP President, Shri Temjen Imna Along today Handed over 1,000 face masks ( 3 Layerd), and 2 sets of PPE suits each to Hon’ble Speaker Shri Sharingain Longkumer from 26 Aonglenden Assembly Constituency, Hon’ble Minister Shri Metsubo Jamir from 27 Mokokchung Town Assembly Constituency, Hon’ble Minister Shri Tongpang Ozukum from 24 Angetyongpang Assembly Constituency and Hon’ble Advisor Shri Imnatiba Jamir from 22 Arkakong Assembly Constituency.
