1. DC Mon informs on uploading of assignments for students

DC Mon, Thavaseelan K, IAS informed that in view of the imposition of Nationwide lockdown and closure of schools, the District administration Mon with due concern for the academic session of Secondary School students will be uploading videos with weekly assignments in its youtube channel, “Deputy Commissioner Mon” from May 04, 2020 onwards.

Therefore, students and parents have been asked to make the best use of this opportunity during the lockdown period and submit reports upon resumption of their respective schools, the DC stated.

2. DC Zunheboto notifies all stranded migrant labourers

The office of the Deputy Commissioner has notified all stranded migrant labourers in the district to compulsorily register their names and submit relevant document at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, Zunheboto latest by May 15, 2020.

A facilitation centre for the purpose is set up at the office chamber of EAC (Sadar), Deputy Commissioner’s office Zunheboto. Migrant labourers may contact the below given number for any queries: -7005574010

3. DC Dimapur convenes DTF meeting

Deputy Commissioner Dimapur Anoop Kinchi, IAS convened a meeting with the District Task Force Dimapur to discuss issues pertaining to COVID-19, in the conference Hall of DC Dimapur on May 09, 2020.

In the meeting, it was decided that for the safety and interest of the people and to ease traffic rush, hardware shops will be opened from 5am to 9am with effect from Monday. The meeting also discussed strict implementation of odd and even system of traffic regulation, barricading of certain areas and issues with regard to border sealing.

In another notification, DC Dimapur, Anoop Khinchi notified all concerned that interstate movement of Individuals is barred but relaxation has been given to those seeking movement on medical ground. Therefore, any patient seeking treatment of non COVID-19 illnesses at Dimapur from neighbouring states shall be required to produce movement permit from their respective district authorities mentioning the medical emergency.

4. Two persons arrested for sexual assault

On May 01, 2020, Dimapur Police arrested two persons namely (1) Ashish Ghosh (30 yrs) and (2) Samuel (31 yrs) in connection with a sexual assault case in Netaji colony, Dimapur.

In this regard, certain important samples have been collected by the investigation team for further Forensic examination. The two arrested persons on completion of police remand have been forwarded to judicial custody, said a press release from Dimapur Police.

5. Union Health Minister holds a video conference with North East states

The Hon’ble Union Minister of Health, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, held a Video Conference with all the North Eastern States, and discussed on the various issues in the fight against COVID-19 such as – plans for expansion of the testing facilities, status of treatment centres, etc. He urged everyone to be vigilant despite the fact that, the North East region has less positive cases than the rest of the country. In respect of Nagaland, the Video Conference was attended by the Principal Secretary Health and Family Welfare, the Principal Director, Health and Family Welfare and other officers.

6. Free ration distributed under PMGKAY scheme:

Heningkunglwa village councils in the presence of Sr. Inspector, Food & Civil Supply Peren distributed free ration for AAY & PHH ration card holders under PMGKAY scheme on May 09, 2020 at Heningkunglwa Village Council Hall, under Peren dist.

7. Ambulance Service provided by the Department of Health & Family Welfare, GON reached Peren District designated COVID-19 Hospital, CHC Jalukie on May 08, 2020. The ambulance service was officially received by the District Administration of Peren in the presence of CMO Peren staff on May 09, 2020 at ADC Office, Jalukie Town.

8. Assam rifles extends support to civil administration and interacts with villagers

Mokokchung Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) extended its helping hand to the District Administration, Mokokchung, on May 08, 2020, by stitching PPEs with locally available materials to ensure safety of the frontline health workers and policemen in their selfless fight against Covid-19.

Also, on the same day, Dimapur Battalion of Assam Rifles provided assistance to civil administration by establishing tentage facilities at State Stadium in Dimapur town for enhancing the segregation facilities in view of arrival of stranded students of Nagaland in Dimapur.

Tuensang Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) also had an interaction with Village GBs and Angh at Chenloiso on May 08, 2020.

The aim of the interaction was to discuss the security situation and COVID-19 in the AOR. In addition, important issues pertaining to development, health, education and women empowerment were also discussed. The meeting focused on bridging the gap between security forces and village traditional bodies through mutual interaction and cooperation to maintain peace and harmony in the region.
