1. Chief Minister visits Mon
Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio and his cabinet colleagues visited District Hospital Mon and held a meeting with DC, SP, Health officials and other Civil Society Organisations of the district at DC’s Conference hall on May 07, 2020.
Deputy Chief Minister, Y. Patton, Minister Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Law and Justice C. M. Chang, Minister Health and Family Welfare, S. Pangnyu Phom and Minister Civil Aviation and Land Resources, P. Paiwang Konyak accompanied the Chief Minister.
2. Directorate of Health & Family Welfare informs
The Directorate of Health & Family Welfare has informed that on referral of serious non-COVID patients outside the State during the pandemic period, the under mentioned additional measure should be followed before the referral:
The hospital outside the State to which the patient is referred (Referring-in Hospital), should be willing to accept the patient. A written document in this regard (an acceptance note by the Referring-in hospital) should be enclosed when the patient is applying for referral or movement order / permit.
This is to avoid the situation where a patient is referred outside the State but the hospital refuses to accept the patient during this pandemic period.
3. COVID-19 special drive by horticulture dept. at Dimapur
The COVID-19 Horticulture Special Drive team led by Commissioner & Secretary, Horticulture, Anenla Sato, IAS, held a meeting with officials of District Horticulture Office Dimapur, at State Horticulture Nursery, Green Park Dimapur on May 08, 2020.
Commissioner & Secretary in her keynote address said that the COVID-19 Horticulture Special Drive mission is to work to make the state self-sufficient in Horticulture products. Stating that the COVID-19 pandemic is likely to push additional 130 million people to the brink of starvation by the end of year 2020 in addition to the present 135 million people facing hunger globally, Sato, called all the district officials to carry the message of grow more, produce more and earn more and further educate the farmers the Standard Operating Procedure to be followed in Horticultural fields for vegetables, fruits, flowers, spices and plantation crops in the wake of COVID-19
4. Zion hospital Dimapur rededicated
The Zion Hospital and Research Centre was rededicated on May 08, 2020. The hospital was sealed by the Government of Nagaland on April 11, 2020 after a patient tested positive for COVID-19.
Following the prescribed quarantine period and negative test results for all staff, a clearance was given by the government and the hospital will function fully from tomorrow, May 09, 2020.
5. COVID-19 contact tracing training for NVBDCP staffs held at Jalukie
Medical Department, Peren District organised COVID-19 contact tracing training for NVBDCP Staffs (SWs, PFWs and Lab Technician) at Customary Court, ADC Office Jalukie on May 08, 2020 with DSO/DVBO, Dr. Kevi Meyase and MO CHC Jalukie, Dr. Albert Pochury as the resource person.
Training was imparted on contact tracing with reporting format, sample collection, rational use of PPEs under different situations, donning & doffing of PPEs, containment zone & dead body management and quarantine & isolation guarding tips and use of disinfectant.
6. Forest officers/staff exempted
According to information, the forest officers and staffs are exempted from the purview of COVID-19 lockdown measures inorder to carry their various essential duties and activities. The staff/ workers of forest department are required to operate and maintain zoo, nurseries, wildlife, fire-fighting in forest, watering plantations, patrolling and their necessary transport movements in and around Kiphire district.
Therefore, all the village councils are informed to take note of the exemption given to the forest department for carrying out various essential duties and activities and ensure that their works are not hampered.
7. Dimapur District Administration starts distribution of relief packages
Disaster Management Authority Dimapur (DDMA) in coordination with district administration Dimapur has started distribution of relief packages to cover 11,000 daily wage earners in the district as per guidelines of NSDMA, Home Department.
The first consignment of relief packages to 450 beneficiaries was distributed at Khuhuboto on May 06, 2020. A larger consignment was distributed today May 08, 2020, covering 1000 beneficiaries in Niuland, 1000 in Chumukedima, 600 in Medziphema, and 450 beneficiaries at Dhansiripar.
