Kohima, May 07 (NE): News bulletin from various sources and press releases by NagalandExpress on May 06, 2020 are as follows:

1. Briefing on COVID-19 on May 06, 2020 for Nagaland

As on May 06, a total of 763 samples have been sent for testing from the State. Results of 712 samples have been received and all are negative. Results for 51 samples are awaited.

A total of 3126 persons have been screened and a total of 80 persons are under Facility Quarantine.

2. Peren DC restricts movement of people from 5 pm to 6 am

Deputy Commissioner of Peren, Sentiwapang Aier, NCS, issued an order for the promulgation of section 144 of CrPC in the district of Peren, prohibiting movement of individuals for all non-essential activities with immediate effect between 5:00 pm to 6:00 am till May 17, 2020. During this period of prohibition, movement/ assembly of five or more persons will be strictly prohibited. Violation shall be tantamount to punitive punishment, added the order.

3. ICU inaugurated at district hospital Zunheboto

A three bedded ICU was inaugurated at District Hospital Zunheboto on May 06, 2020 by CMO Zunheboto, Dr. Zhehokhu Chishi. The ICU will be available to all patients who require the facility in the district.

4. DC Dimapur permits Zion Hospital to resume services from May 06

In a notification, the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, Anoop Khinchi, informed that in the absence of new positive cases in the area, Zion Hospital is permitted to resume medical services for the public with effect from May 06, 2020 onwards.

5. Horticulture dept creates awareness at Longleng

Department of Horticulture led by Zarenthung Ezung Additional Secretary Horticulture visited Longleng District on May 06, 2020 and held a program with various Agri allied department of Longleng under the vision “Grow More! Produce More! Earn More!” at EBRC Hall, Longleng.

Ezung said the purpose for the visit was to create awareness among farmers and know the clear cut assessment from the grassroot level and to collect data and identify the farmers. He also said that the mission is for new policy based on ground reality.

6. Avantika Associates Pvt Ltd lends helping hand for frontline workers at Nagaland

At this time of COVID-19 pandemic, Shri Abhijeet Sahu, proprietor of Avantika Associates Pvt Ltd, has been actively participating in many social activities within the state of Nagaland in donating essential commodities, medical equipments and accessories related to COVID-19.

He donated 100 pieces of PPE kit to Dimapur COVID-19 Hospital, Nagaland in the presence of Medical Superintendent, Dr. Z Kheshito Zhimo, Dimapur-1 BJP, Yuva Morcha General Secretary, Nzanbemo Shitiri and staff of Dimapur Hospital.
