Kohima, May 03 (NE): News bulletin from various sources and press releases by NagalandExpress on May 03, 2020 are as follows:

1. Briefing on COVID-19 on May 03, 2020 for Nagaland

Till date a total of 684 samples have been sent for testing from the State. Results of 663 samples have been received and all are negative. Results for 21 samples are awaited. Today a total of 1264 persons have been screened and a total of 28 persons are under Facility Quarantine. The number of people who are out of home quarantine is now 6361

2. ADC Jalukie notifies on import and slaughtering of pigs

In pursuance to the notification received from the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Govt. of Nagaland and in view of the reported outbreak of African Swine Fever and high mortality of pigs in the neighbouring States, ADC Jalukie, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang in a circular informed to all concerned that import and slaughtering of pigs for human consumption within Jalukie Sub-Division is banned with immediate effect.

3. DC Peren informs all HoDs to be present in the district

DC Peren. Semtiwapang Aier in a circular has informed to all the Heads of Departments (HoDs) under Peren District to be physically present in the district and attend to their duties with minimum required staffs and also to be available on call whenever required. Disciplinary action shall be initiated against erring officer as per the Government Service Conduct Rules.

4. Training for NST drivers and conductors for COVID-19 duty held at Kohima

A basic training for drivers and conductors of the Nagaland State Transport (NST), organised by the Office of Chief Medical Officer, Kohima was held in its conference hall on 2nd May 2020.

The training was conducted for the NST drivers and conductors who have been detailed to perform emergency COVID-19 duties. Dr. Rupert DIO Kohima as the resource person enlightened the drivers and conductors on the basic safety measures with proper guidelines and protocols of COVID-19 to be followed while performing their duties.

During the training, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) were also distributed to all the personnel for safety measures. Station Superintendent, Kevilhoutuo Sekhose and Yard Master, Kekhriengutuo from NST department attended the training along with the drivers and conductors.

5. ADC Tening notifies for sealing of borders

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Tening, Rhosietho Nguori has issued an order for sealing of borders on 3rd May, 2020.

All the Village Councils/ Village authorities under Tening Sub Division have been directed to strictly monitor and implement the sealing of borders and to report any unauthorised entry of people in the respective villages, whether from within or outside the state.

Failure to do so would invite penalties both the authority and the person entering the village.
