1. Peren DTF meeting at office chamber of DC Peren
Peren District Task Force (DTF) meeting on COVID-19 was held on March 13, 2020 at DC Peren Office Chamber under the chairmanship of DC Peren cum DTF Chairman, Sentiwapang Aier.
District Surveillance Officer, Dr. Kevi Meyase gave a brief introductory note on COVID-19 and also highlighted on the present status of COVID-19 in Nagaland. He also apprised the board members on some of the early signs and symptoms of COVID-19 as well as on preventive measures.
The members also discussed on the need to create community awareness in all the sub-divisions of Peren District. Further, DC Peren has assured to issue directives in the form of advisory in the District at the earliest.
2. Gameweek 4 of LMPL ends with victory for Mustang FC
Gameweek 4 of LirunaS Morning Premier League (LMPL) ended today at D-Khel ground, Seikhazou, with a resounding 3-0 victory for Mustang FC over Morung United FC. Blisto was the hero of the match as he scored all three goals for Mustang. Blisto found the top left corner with a belter of a shot to open the scoring in the 16th minute. The first half ended at 1-0, and with Morung United pressing forward to find an equalizer in the second half, the game opened up and two quick counter attacks from Mustang resulted in Blisto bagging two more goals to complete his hat-trick.
At the end of gameweek 4, Kohima Raiders made it 4 wins in a row to remain at the top of the table with 12 points, Unity FC are in 2nd position with 9 points. All Blacks are 3rd on goal difference while Mustang FC moved up to 4th on 7 points. Gameweek 5 will commence on 16th March, 2020 at the IG Stadium with Morung United FC taking on Vanguard Old Boys.
3. HQ IGAR (N) organized ‘RUN FOR FIT INDIA’ to Pulienadze Peak
In keeping with the need to be fit and benefit from it, all officers of HQ IGAR (North) participated in an uphill run from Kohima Police HQ to Puliebadze, Jotsoma, a climb of about 990 meters on March 13, 2020. The run witnessed enthusiastic and whole hearted participation of 28 officers including one lady officer.
4. AR conducts pre recruitment training
In order to give a head start to aspiring youth for the upcoming Army Recruitment Rally in April 2020, Chieswema Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) has been conducting pre-recruitment training camp for youth of Kohima and Phek districts w.e.f February 1, 2020.
A deliberate effort is being undertaken by the Battalion to guide candidates for physical, medical and combined entrance exam. As part of the training capsule, candidates are being tested for physicals, theory classes and mock written exam. On March 13, 2020, test was conducted at IG Stadium, Kohima so as to make trainees accustomed about the actual recruitment procedures and tests. 100 candidates have been registered for the rally scheduled to be held at Dimapur from April 1-4, 2020.
5. KDTO & DU and NVCO wants all forms of illegal taxation to stop
Kohima District Truck Owners and Drivers Union (KDTO&DU) and Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organisation, NVCO, Kohima have asked the state government to stop all forms of illegal taxation in the state. In observing a weeklong celebration of World Consumer Rights Day, the two organisations deliberated on illegal collection of cash at check-gates and on highways which causes price-rise in the market.
The NVCO, President Kezhokhoto Savi pointed out that there is a standing order of the government dated 22nd June, 2009 which bans collection of taxes by any organization or individual including government departments. Savi said ban on collection of cash should start with government agencies such as Police, Forest, Excise, Narcotics and Geology and Mining.
6. ADC (Police) informs on March 12
The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, ADCP, Dimapur has directed all arms license holders whose license have not generated the unique identification number (UIN) to report the said office of Commissioner of Police, Dimapur before May Thirty.
In a press release by Dimapur Police on March Twelve, it said that thereafter, the said arm licensed without IUN will be expired/become invalid. One may contact arms cell between 10am to 4pm.
