1. Former Nagaland Minister passed away today at Dimapur

A former Minister of Nagaland, Late C Nocklem Konyak left for heavenly abode today, March Eight at a private hospital in Dimapur. As per information received here, a send off service will be held at Dimapur tomorrow. He was more than seventy years old and died due to an illness. Many have lamented his sudden demise.

2. Peace rally on Naga political solutions to be held at Dimapur tomorrow

A Peace Rally on Naga political talks will be held at DC Court Junction, Dimapur on March Nine, tomorrow, organized under the aegis of Nagaland GB Federation, Dimapur. Therefore, the public are asked to be gathered by 9:30 am.

A notification said that speakers are:

a) Shri T Bengerloba, President, Naga Council, Dimapur.
b) Smti Sungnabeni Jamio, President, Naga Women Hoho, Dimapur.
c) Shri Imchalemba, Former MP, Lok Sabha.
d) Dr Kakheto Zhimomi, President, Western Sumi Hoho, Dimapur and
e) Shri Z Lohe, Former Speaker, NLA.

3. 2nd Anniversary of PDA Government & Thanksgiving tomorrow

The Second Anniversary of PDA Government and Thanksgiving service will be held at Niathu Resort, Chumukedima: Dimapur tomorrow, March Nine, 2020. According to a notification, all the ruling MLAs and Ministers, wellwishers and others are expected to attend the said program. Shri Neiphiu Rio may be the special guest among others.

4. Nokmachier L Jamir receives Samarthya Award at Bengaluru: Karnataka

Shri Nokmachier L Jamir has recieved Samarthya Award from CBRF CL, Bengaluru on March Seven.
Nokmachier is a differently abled person who has a talent in painting.

Son of Late Limatoshi Jamir, Shri Nokmachier has been guided under Disabled People Organization of Ungma Village, Mokokchung. It is a project of Care & Support Society, Mokokchung.

5. Indian Railway informs: counters to be closed on March 10

Due to National Holiday on account of Holi Festival, the Northeast Frontier Railway has informed that the ticket counter will be closed on March Ten throughout its area in the North East India region. Informing through a notification as received by NagalandExpress on March Eight, it said that Dimapur counter will also be closed on that particular day. The valued customers are requested to come the next day, March 11, as services will be resumed, it said.

6. Distribution of solar lights

Shamator Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) undertook distribution of Solar Lights at Yimchungru village under the Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme. Solar Street Lamps were installed at public places in the Village. Locals and GBs of the Noklak and Shamator Sub Division appreciated the effort of Assam Rifles for such initiative in extremely remote and inaccessible areas and requested for continued outreach programmes.
