1. Power outage from this morning at Southern Angami area of Kohima till tomorrow: Department of Power

Unfortunately a power blackout in Souther Angami area of Kohima : Nagaland from this morning has been witnessed due to a construction work being carried out, this was stated in a notification by the state electricity department on March Five.

In the notification, it stated that there will be no supply of electricity for two days on March 6-7 from 10 am to 4 pm. The affected areas of the power supply are the Southern Angami region and its surrounding areas.

The shutdown of power supply is due to the construction work of 400 kv D/C (Twin) Transmission Line from Imphal (Manipur) to New Mariani (Assam) via New Kohima Nagaland project for the “North Eastern Region strengthening Scheme (NERSS-VI)”.

2. Regional News Unit, All India Radio Kohima to broadcast live interactive programme on March 7

Regional News Unit, All India Radio Kohima will bring live interactive programme on the theme “Our Environment, Our Responsibilities” on March 7. It will be broadcast at FM Tragopan from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

Jentina Yaomei Shangkhu, a 12 year old environmental activist and founder of Environmentally Conscious Children’s Organization (ECCO) from Kohima, along with her sister will join the programme.

3. Travel advisory over Liangmen wooden bridge: Sources

Plying of loaded light vehicles, light medium vehicles, heavy vehicles viz: Pick up trucks, 407, etc are strictly prohibited over Liangmen wooden bridge, Liangmen village of Mokokchung district under EAC, Longchem, till further notice.
In a notification received here, it said that this prohibition is enforced for safety precautions due to weak wooden structure bridge and is on the verge of collapse.

4. Mopungchuket new office bearers on March 5

The Mopungchuket Community Tourism Society has reshuffled it’s new office bearer on March Five at Mopungchuket village, under Mokokchung district.
A notification on March Five said that the new team hence will work from Thursday. Mopungchuket village is in a picturesque area under Mokokchung district where lots of tourists come to visit throughout the year. 5. 1 dead, others injured between Losami village & Phek on March 6

Dimapur to Phek bound Sumo vehicle met with an accident between Losami and Phek where one died on the spot; the rest were admitted to Civil hospital, Phek district today on March Six.

In a late information to NagalandExpress (NE), a girl from Pranabananda Women’s College, Dimapur who was traveling on this fateful journey (name Vekrelu Hoshi d/o Nechochiyi Hoshi of Phek Basa from class 12th Commerce stream) died on the spot in the accident this evening on her journey to Hometown (Phek). Many has sent condolence messages as soon as they heard about the incident.

NE as a responsible digital media condole the entire accident and particularly to the bereaved family in this hour of grief, and hope a speedy recovery to injured passengers.

6. Kohima Raiders continues winning streak at LMPL

Gameweek 3 of LirunaS Morning Premier League (MPL) ended today, March 6, 2020 at D-Khel ground, Seikhazou, with Gazelle FC playing out a 1-1 draw against Vanguard Old Boys. Mar opened the score for Gazelle FC in the 50 minute with an assist from Moro. But the lead lasted only 2 minutes as Seyalo leveled the score line for Vanguard Old Boys in the 53 minute after an assist from Dithanglo, as per a report from DIPR.

At the end of gameweek 3, Kohima Raiders continued their strong start of the season with their third successive win, beating All Blacks 3-0 to sit at the top of the points table with 9 points. Unity FC moved up to 2nd position with 6 points after their comeback win against Morung United FC. All Blacks are 3rd on goal difference and Getthemgo FC are 4th with 5 points. Gameweek 4 will commence on March 9, 2020 where Getthemgo FC will take on Kohima Raiders.

7. GOC Spear Corps called on Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio

Lieutenant General Rana Pratap Kalita, the new GOC of 3 Corps called on CM Neiphiu Rio today, March 6, 2020 and discussed prevailing Security situation in the state as well as along the Indo Myanmar border. The Chief Minister appreciated the Armed Forces for their contribution in improving the security situation in the state. ‘A highly decorated and accomplished personnel, he is the second from the North East to be appointed as a Corps Commander.
