1. Cricket practice pitch at DSCG, Dimapur, inaugurated

Cricket practice Pitch at Dimapur District Sports Council Ground, Dimapur has been inaugurated by Shri A.R. Rahman, Joint Secy, Nagaland Cricket Association on February Twenty Two.

As per a notification, “Many more to come. Its an NCA initative to take the Game of Cricket to the grass root level in Nagaland” – unquote.

2. General Meeting of Kohima Lotha Hoho held

Nagaland Deputy CM, Shri. Y Patton, attended the General Meeting of Kohima Lotha HoHo on February Twenty Two.

Speaking on the General Meeting Shri. Y Patton, conveyed a message on the importance of safeguarding and promoting our culture, our identity, and our language. He also congratulated the new team of KLH and wished them all the best on the new responsibilities. This was revealed in a notification by BJP, Wokha on February Twenty Two.

3. NPWD charged for construction of bridge without any road connectivity

The Nagaland Public Works Department (Roads & Bridges) Department has been charged of constructing a bridge without any road connectivity at an estimated cost of 4.18 crore rupees during 2011-12. This was revealed in the report of the Comptroller and Auditor General, CAG of India for the year ended 31st March 2018.

In a report by AIR Kohima on February Twenty Two, it said that National Bank of Agriculture and Rural Development, NABARD sanctioned a project Construction of RCC T-beam Girder Bridge over river Disakapu near Assam Rifles Training Centre, ARTC, Dimapur at an estimated cost of 4.67 Crore rupees during 2011-12. Nonetheless, joint verification of the project as on July 2018, revealed that the completed bridge was not connected with the existing road from either ends, the CAG said while remarking that the bridge therefore, could not be put to meaningful use for the purpose.

4. Dimapur – Kohima Four Lane Road delay due to cash flow shortage faced by the contractors

The lone Member of Lok Sabha, Tokheho Yepthomi has said that the delay in construction of the Dimapur – Kohima Four Lane Road was due to cash flow shortage faced by the contractors. This was informed by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari to the Member of Parliament through a letter. In a statement issued yesterday, on February Twenty Two, Shri Tokheho said that the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation have already taken various steps to mitigate the cash flow problems being faced by the contractors.

Nitin Gadkari has informed that the contractors for Dimapur – Kohima road have assured completion of 2 lane road up to DBM layer by February 2020 and 4 lane road by April 2020. Rectification of defects in DBM layer have been ordered immediately, Tokheho Yepthomi added.
