1. Blood donation camp at Salesian College of Higher Education, Dimapur
A blood donation camp was organised by the Red Ribbon club of Salesian College of Higher Education, Dimapur, today, at the college auditorium on February 21, 2020, with an aim to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation under the theme ‘Donate Blood Save Lives’.
2. NPCC said denial of SARFAESI Act is facilitation of Illegal money lenders’ market
Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) said denial of Securitisation and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Securities Interest (SARFAESI) Act is facilitation of Illegal money lenders’ market. NPCC President K Therie in a release said non application of the Act will stop Banks and financial institutions from lending at cheaper rates and private money lenders are allowed to capture the loan market. NPCC said inability to avail the benefits from Banks and other Financial Institutions has seriously impacted the growth of economy, a report by AIR Kohima.
It may be mentioned that Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio in his speech at the just concluded state assembly session said that SARFAESI Act 2002 cannot be implemented in Nagaland in its present form since it comes in direct conflict with the land holding systems and restrictions on transfer of land as provided in Article 371 (A) (special provisions on transfer of land and its resources). Therie said no pawner should pay more than the rate specified in the Money Lenders Act and that Congress legal cell will provide free service, if needed by any.
3. Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra inaugurated at Mokokchung

4. Pungro restricts movement of people crossing through international border
As per an order received from Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kiphire, the movement of people crossing through international border between India & Myanmar is strictly prohibited from date of issue of this order, February Eleven.
Therefore, all Village Councils (VCC), under Pungro sub divisions of Kiphire district are hereby directed to ensure cross border movement of people is strictly checked and monitored by enlisting the assistance of Village Guards if necessary.
The VCC of: Sangtrong/ Tsundang/ Vontsuvong/ Fakim/ Thanamir/ Khong/ Khongjiri/ Mimi/ Lopfukhong and Hakkomote villages are directed to submit weekly report to ADC, Pungro without fail. A notification by ADC, Pungro sub divisions of Kiphire district, Shri Abhinav Shivam, IAS said on February Nineteen.
5. Disaster Management Committee Wangkhao College conducted method of Rescue at the college campus
Home Guards & Civil Defence, Mon in collaboration with Disaster Management Committee, Wangkhao College yesterday, February Twenty, conducted method of Rescue at Wangkhao College campus, Mon. A DIPR report revealed that, District Commandant, Home Guards and Civil Defence, Mon, Shri Ngongvai E Phom in his keynote address said the demonstration is to generate awareness and effective response to disasters like earthquake, accident or any other disaster. He said disaster is inevitable where “we can only prepare ourselves on preparedness and response during the time of emergencies,” – unquote.
6. Workshop for journalists at Kohima
The Kohima Press Club in collaboration with Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB) Kohima, is organizing a workshop for journalists on the theme “Pollution: a cause of concern”, on 22 February 2020 at 4:00 pm at Eastgate Hotel, Kohima.
