Kohima, April 29 (NE): News bulletin from various sources and press releases by NagalandExpress on April 29, 2020 are as follows:

1. Covid-19: 13 samples result awaited, 37 persons under facility quarantine

A total of 644 suspected Covid-19 samples were collected from Nagaland out of which 631 tested negative and 13 results are waited, as on 03:00 pm, April 29, 2020.

While informing on the persons under quarantine, it stated that 37 persons are under facility quarantine at present and 6268 persons have completed home quarantine period.

2. State government bans import of pigs

Following the advisory issued by the Union Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying to all the North-Eastern States for strict bio-security and bio- safety measures including restrictions on movement of pigs, the Department of A.H & Veterinary Services Nagaland has issued a press release stating the decision of the State Government to ban import of pigs from outside the state in view of the reported outbreak of “African Swine Fever” disease of pigs in the neighbouring State with immediate effect.

3. JLF to discuss the Naga Political Issue and the COVID-19

Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly and Chairman of the Joint Legislators’ Forum (JLF) on Naga Political Issue, Sharingain Longkumer will convene a meeting with the Members of the JLF on Saturday, May 02, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at the State Banquet Hall of the Old Chief Minister’s Residence, Kohima. The meeting will discuss the Naga Political Issue and the COVID-19 Pandemic situation.

Therefore, all the Members of the Joint Legislators’ Forum on Naga Political Issue have been requested to attend the meeting as scheduled.

4. Mockdrill on COVID-19 was conducted at stadium colony Jalukie on 29th April 2020

5. ANTA Wokha on Wednesday handed over essential items like Rice, Masoor Dal, Potatoes, Sugar, etc, to all the needy Taxi drivers at it’s office complex.

6. DC dimapur notifies

DC Dimapur Anoop Khinchi has informed that a meeting of District Level Price Monitoring Committee and stakeholders will be held at DC conference hall on April 30, 2020 at 10:30 am. All concerned have been requested to attend the meeting without fail.

7. DC Kohima informs on mock drill

The Deputy Commissioner Kohima and Chairman DDMA Gregory Thejawelie NCS who is also the Responsible Officer of the Incident Response System (IRS) has informed the public that the Kohima District Administration and DDMA Kohima will be conducting a mock drill on COVID-19 related activities tomorrow, April 30, 2020 within Kohima town. In this connection, the public have been informed not to panic.

8. DC Mon informs on telephonic survey

Deputy Commissioner, Mon Thavaseelan K IAS informed that the Government of India will be conducting a Telephonic Survey calling up citizens on their mobile phones across the country. This is to be carried out by National Informatics Centre (NIC).

Public are informed that the call will be coming to the mobile phones from the calling number 1921. People are informed that it is a genuine survey and are requested to participate in good measure when a call comes in from 1921 to enable proper feedback of the prevalence and distribution of COVID-19 symptoms. Please be aware of any other calls by prankster or calls from any other in the guise of such similar survey,’ the order stated.
