Kohima, April 29 (NE): News bulletin from various sources and press releases by NagalandExpress on April 28, 2020 are as follows:
1. Medical Dept Peren conducted training related to COVID-19 cases
Medical Department, Peren organised training for Police personnel , ASHAs & Anganwadi workers at ADC Jalukie, Conference Hall on April 28, 2020 with DSO, Dr. Kevi Meyase, MO CHC Jalukie, Dr. Albert and DIO, Dr. Asangla as the resource persons.
The trainees were trained on different topics which includes; cluster containment strategy and community surveillance, COVID-19 contact line listing, house to house search of suspected COVID-19 cases in a cluster, daily reporting format for Supervisor/block, contact listing & follow-up for frontline health workers, COVID-19 dead body management and demonstration of proper hand washing technique and donning & doffing of PPEs.
2. State government freezes dearness allowance and dearness relief
In view of the crisis arising out of COVID-19 pandemic, the State Government has decided that the Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief to State Government employees and pensioners respectively due from 1st January 2020, 1st July 2020 and 1st January 2021 shall not be paid. However, they shall continue to be paid at the current rates till further order.
Accordingly, as and when a decision is taken by the Government of India to release the future instalment of Dearness Allowances due from 1st July 2021, the deferred enhancements of Dearness Allowances shall be prospectively restored and incorporated into the rate of July 2021 without arrears as specified in the OM dated April 23, 2020.
3. DC Dimapur permits
DC Dimapur Anoop Khinchi has informed that in the absence of any positive cases for the last 14 days, Murgi Patti and GS Road areas are permitted to open retail shops dealing with essential commodities and medicines with limited movement of public for availing essential services from 9am to 2pm with effect from April 28, 2020 with strict maintenance of social distancing. However there will be no activity permitted in Marwari Patti area.
He further informed that no wholesale activities will be permitted in GS Road and wholesale market of essential commodities will continue to operate from designated Godowns. Wholesale Vegetable market will continue to operate from supermarket area and the medical wholesale market will also continue as notified earlier.
4. Nine villages declared to allow burial of COVID-19 victims
Nine villages under Longleng district namely Tangha, Yonglok, Namhaching, Apoiji, Shetap, Orangkong and Auching villages has declared to allow their cemeteries for burial of COVID-19 victims.
The village functionaries comprising of the Village Council, Students’ Union, Church and Citizens’ Forum of the respective village issued a separate joint resolution to allow their citizens to be buried in their cemetery in case of COVID-19 deads. The declaration was made for the citizens not to confuse with the rumours spreading that citizens in some places are deprived to use community cemetery for burial of COVID-19 dead.
5. Assam Rifles conduct various activities
Mokokchung Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) extended helping hand to the District Administration, Mokokchung by providing masks and PPEs out of locally available materials to be given out to frontline health workers and policemen in their selfless fight against Covid-19.
Also, Zunheboto Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) distributed essential commodities alongwith basic medicines to aggrieved residents of Ahotshe village, Tuensang on April 27, 2020.
6. DC Mon informs on withdrawal of money
Deputy Commissioner, Mon has informed all concerned that the Nagaland State Cooperative Bank (NSCB) has agreed to allow the Village Council Chairman/Village Council Secretary/Village Development Board (VDB) Secretary to withdraw money on behalf of the villagers if they are unable to come to the bank themselves in the context of the present lockdown. However, the authorized individual (Village Council Chairman/Village Council Secretary/VDB Secretary) will have to produce authorization letter from the respective bank account holder in addition to the withdrawal form. The withdrawal forms can be collected in bulk from the Nagaland State Cooperative Bank (NSCB) Branch in Mon.
