1. Fire personnel avert building fire at Mhainamtsi, Jalukie

Nagaland Fire and Emergency Services personnel averted building fire at Mhainamtsi in Jalukie. Upon receiving fire call at 9:46 am on April 27, 2020 from Mhainamtsi (Kohima Road), Jalukie, Fire & Emergency Services mobilised a quick response team from Fire Station Jalukie and pressed into action to contain the fire.

The Building was partially damaged but timely intervention of fire personnel managed to put the fire under control and prevented from further spreading to adjoining buildings.

Press release from T. Shilu Jamir, DY. SP (F&ES) informed that the cause of fire was due to short circuit. No casualty was reported. The response team was led by Khriemezo Mere OC and Duty Commander ASI Lakhum Yimchunger.

2. Technical education department informs

In view of the lockdown due to COVID-19, the Director, Technical Education, Er. Arjun Singh informed all the intending candidates that the last date of form submission for both Nagaland State Entrance Examination (NSEE-2020) and Diploma Entrance Examination (DEE-2020) for the session 2020-21 has been extended till further order.

3. DoSE informs teachers on interview for Radio/Tele tutor

The department of school education, GoN informed all the teachers who had applied for rendering service as Radio/Tele tutor and received email acknowledgment from the department are to report at the Directorate of School Education, Kohima along with their employee ID card on April 28, 2020, 12:00 noon.

4. ADC Bhandari informs on swine fever

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Bhandari, Tiameren Chang has issued an order for all the villages under sub-division Bhandari in Wokha District.

The order stated that the information has been received from the Department of Animals Husbandry and veterinary services, Government of Nagaland on reported occurrence of swine fever disease in Assam state of Jorhat and Sibsagar District.

Therefore, in order to prevent Swine fever, import of pigs from outside Bhandari shall remain totally banned until further notice. Any cases of swine flu disease have been asked to report immediately to the District Administration. Any person who intends to slaughter Local reared pigs should obtain clearance from the Authority, the order stated.

In addition, any person found selling meat by the roadside violating the Covid-19 lockdown norms shall be penalized as per relevant sections IPC and Epidemic disease Act 1897. The public has been asked to extend full co-operation.

5. Atoot Bandhan with family of veterans

Keeping up with its tradition to care for veteran families, Kohima Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) reached out to 11 Veer Naris and Ex-Servicemen at lower Chandmari, Kohima and provided them with essential food items.

This gesture is a reaffirmation of the commitment of Assam Rifles towards the well-being of the families of its martyred/deceased soldiers and Ex- Servicemen. An initiative that was highly appreciated by the Gorkha Public Panchayat and district administration.

6. Tseminyu distributes free food grain

Department of Food & Civil Supply, Tseminyu under the Supervision of Inspector F&CS Sashila Pongen, distributed food grain (free of cost) to all nine Wards/FPS at its godown in Tseminyu town on April 27, 2020, for distribution to all ration card holders in Tseminyu Town. The distribution program was held in the presence of ADC Tseminyu Nokchasashi Kichu.
