1. Assam rifles conducts ‘Operation Namaste’
Taking forward the noble initiative of ‘Operation Namaste’, IGAR (North) reached out to local administration and staff at Community Health Centre Changtongya Town, Mokokchung District with provision of N95 and Surgical Masks for the medical staff. Cooking utensils, Linen, Hygiene chemicals and toilet items, to help set up an Isolation and quarantine facility was also provided.
2. Sanitation drive at Jalukie:
Cognizant of the importance of prominent offices and centres of the region during the ongoing crisis, Jalukie Battalion of Assam Rifles under aegis of HQ IGAR (North) carried out sanitization drive at CHC and Police Station, Jalukie through spraying and fogging of disinfectant chemicals.
3. IG IGAR visits Changtongya:
Industries & Commerce, Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, IG IGAR (N) Maj Gen. V.T.S Kaushik SM visited Community Health Center Changtongya on April 19, 2020. He reviewed the preparedness of CHC CTN fight against the pandemic of Covid-19 and also visited the isolation ward and interacted with the Doctors, Nurses, OC Police and SDO (C). He encouraged all to be prepared and also donated essentials for setting up a Quarantine facilities towards the CHC CTN.
He further assured for the construction of public toilet at CHC 5 was accompanied by CDR 7, Sec Brig. S.K Sheron SM YSM CO 23AR Mokokchung BN COL Raj Kumar Bishnoi and OC Tuli post Capt. Jephin Jose.
4. Number of Coronavirus cases rise to 13295 in India
The Number of Coronavirus cases rise to 13295 in India as on Sunday, April 19, 2020, 05:00 pm. Out of the total cases, 2301 patients have been cured and discharged. Death toll rises to 519, says ICMR.
5. DC Peren meeting with ZYON:
In a meeting called by DC Peren with Zeme Youth Organization Nagaland (ZYON) at Jalukie town, some key factors and issues were discussed on April 18, 2020. In a lengthy discussion, the organization stressed if the medical facilities are satisfactory & reliable further encouraging the concerned authority to maintain transparency in all relief sanctioned for the district and the same to be implemented thoroughly while sealing all inter district entry and check if all the appointed staffs are in station. Further the officials of ZYON visited the market to check illegal price hike including the preparation of CHC Jalukie and the quarantine centre set up at JNV Jalukie.
6. Dimapur Gorkha Union and Gorkha students Union Dimapur conducts charity program
Dimapur Gorkha Union in Collaboration with Gorkha Students’ union Dimapur, Conducted a Charity program At Khira village DGU unit. The Union Distributed ration and essential commodities to more than 35 families including non-gorkha families who are mostly from below poverty line and badly hit by the lockdown. The unions expressed gratitude to the cheerful donors who have voluntarily contributed financially and supported this noble cause in the hours of need.
