1. Number of Coronavirus cases rise to 6634 in India
The Number of coronavirus cases rise to 6634 in India as on Saturday, April 11, 2020, 05:00 pm. Out of the total cases, 652 patients have been cured and discharged. Death toll rises to 242, says ICMR.
2. DC Longleng directs
As precautionary measures to contain and control the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the district the Deputy Commissioner Longleng has directed all the village council chairman and ward presidents of Longleng and Tamlu to immediately report in case of any unusual increase in fever/cough/shortness of breath within their respective jurisdiction to the mobile number 8874454483 and 8974382925 for the rapid response from the district surveillance unit of the department of Health & Family Welfare, Longleng.
3. Free distribution of ration to BPL holders
A joint venture was initiated by the apex Phom community comprising of the Phom Students Conference (PSC), Phom People’s Council (PPC), PhomlaHoichen, Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA) in collaboration with the district administration for free distribution of ration and other essential commodities to around 700 BPL holders in Longleng town today, April 11, 2020. The remaining commodities will be sent to Tamlu sub-division for free distribution.
4. VWF distributed Dry Ration to 210 families of 6 colonies of Dimapur
Few members of Vivekenanda Welfare Foundation (VWF) took the initiative in identifying beneficiary families and the areas where ration is needed to be supplied. On April, 09, 2020, the Team distributed one week Dry Ration (Grocery items) among 210 needy families residing in different areas /colonies of Kuda Village, C-Khel and A-Khel, Dimapur.
5. Allocation of rice at Shamator
Consequent upon the receipt of 155 (one hundred and fifty five) quintals (311 bags of 50 kgs each) of relief rice for Shamator sub-division from the Office of the Deputy Commissioner Tuensang. Allocation to villages/settlements/wards has been made taking into account the number or households receiving aid/assistance through Ration cards, MGNRKGA Job cards, GIA, etc and with reference to Census 2011.
Distribution for Shamator town shall he as per the list of needy households submitted by the ward authorities and at the rate of 3 kgs per head (1808 persons).
6. Western Sumi hoho lauds Covid frontline workers
Western Sumi Hoho President, Dr. Kakheto Zhimomi on Saturday April 11, 2020, lauded the COVID 19 frontline workers of Dimapur district for working tirelessly day and night in the fight against COVID 19.
