1. Number of Coronavirus cases rise to 5218 in India

The Number of coronavirus cases rise to 5218 in India as on Thursday, April 09, 2020, 05:00 pm. Out of the total cases, 477 patients have been cured and discharged. Death toll rises to 169, says ICMR.

2. MLAs to contribute towards PM Cares fund

Responding to the Prime Minister’s appeal to the Nation to contribute generously towards the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES Fund) to help fight the distress situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and other similar situations, the Nagaland Legislative Assembly has informed that all the MLAs of the Ruling coalition in Nagaland have decided to contribute 30% of their monthly salary, starting from April, 2020, for the next one year to this Fund. This is besides the one month’s salary that all the MLAs of the State have already contributed to the Medical Department of the State in March, 2020, for supporting the efforts of the Government of Nagaland in dealing with the COVID-19 situation.

3. BJP continues to help during Covid19 pandemic in Nagaland

Yesterday, April Eight, under the initiative of BJP State President, Shri Temjen Imna Along, essential items like rice, pulses , potatoes, onions, Master oil and salt were distributed to some destitute people at Chumukedima area of Dimapur district.

4. DC Kohima informs

Deputy Commissioner Kohima Gregory Thejawelie, NCS has informed that in view of the Covid-19 crisis and to contain the outbreak of the infection in the district all are hereby directed to authenticate any person who have entered to the colony/ward/villages after 6th March 2020 and have not reported to the Medical Department to compulsorily report to the Help Line numbers 8837093602/7005464959. Further all Colony/Ward/Village have also been directed to check, authenticate and report (if any) to the helpline numbers above for further action of the Medical Department.

5. Para military forces extend help to Kohima district administration

78 BN CRPF Zubza under the leadership of Ram Chandra Commandant(AOL) and 93rd BN BSF Chedema assisted the Kohima District administration in transporting and distributing relief materials to Chiephobozou, Botsa, Jakhama and Kezocha on April 09, 2020.

6. New version of self declaration app released

A new version of Self Declaration nCOVID-19 Nagaland App has been released by the government of Nagaland which can be downloaded from hhps:/nagahealth.nagaland.gov.in

Government has ordered the health officials while declaring any individual to put on home quarantine shall ensure the ‘Self Declaration COVID-19 Nagaland App’ is downloaded in the person’s mobile phone and complete the registration process.
