1. Justice will be delivered without any delay, Health Minister

Health Minister for H&FW, S Pangnyu Phom, made an appeal to all Medical Team not to be discouraged by the incident of April, 3, 2020, but to reaffirm their commitment to continue the fight against COVID-19.

‘Very saddening to learn yesterday’s incident at Dimapur where one of the frontline worker Dr. Sezo was physically assaulted by some Police personnels while returning from duty. Will ensure that justice is delivered without any delay, tweets Pangnyu Phom.

2. Number of Coronavirus cases rise to 2784 in India

The Number of coronavirus cases rise to 2784 in India as on Saturday, April 04, 2020, 06:00 pm. Out of the total cases, 212 patients have been cured and discharged. Death toll rises to 75, says ICMR.

3. Shri. Temjen Imna Along donates food packages

Minister for higher and technical education, Shri Temjen Imna Along on April 04, 2020, donated food packages at two locations in Kohima- PHQ junction and Mhonkhola roadside, for people in need during the lock down period with the motive to feed the needy. Whoever needs the food packages can pick one it says.

4. DC Kohima informs

Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, NCS has informed that in partial modification of the previous order of the office of the Deputy Commissioner Kohima, all grocery shops and bakeries within Kohima Municipal Area are directed to open to general public from 7:00 am to 12:00 noon only. Further the general public are also directed to visit only the nearest grocery shops and bakeries within their respective wards/colonies so as to insure public safety. This order will come into force with immediate effect.

5. Women account holders under PMJDY to get ex-gratia payment

Department of Urban Development Nagaland has issued a circular on 4th April 2020 with regard to the decision taken by the Government of India to provide a onetime ex-gratia payment of Rs.500/- per month for the next three months (starting from 1st April) to all women Pradhan Mantri Jan DhanYojana (PMJDY) account holders through the Pradhan MantriGaribKalyanYojana (PMGKY) Package. This decision has been taken by the Centre in view of the economic and social distress caused due to the outbreak of COVID19. The distribution of funds to the urban as well as rural PMJDY account holders will be carried out by the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India through the State Bank of India.

6. DC issues advisory on social distancing

Dimapur Anoop Khinchi in an official letter addressed to ADS, Food & Civil Supplies, Dimapur, informed the re-opening of Fair Price Shops in Dimapur with effect from 6 April 2020 from 7am to 4pm. DC further requested the ADS to direct the FPS to maintain social distancing of atleast one metre at all times.
