Kohima, January 05 (NEx): The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel, currently deployed at Dzükou valley for the ongoing firefighting operation was found dead inside one of the base camps on Tuesday morning.
The deceased, Nongthombam Binoy Meetei, Assistant Sub-Inspector, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is a resident of Luwangshangbam Maning Leikai in Imphal East District in Manipur.
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh expressed sadness at the news of the demise of ASI, NDRF, Nongthombam Binoy Meetei. He said that he was a committed officer. His dedication to duty and zeal for accomplishing objectives was exceptional, said CM Biren Singh.
‘Sadly, on January 5 morning, he failed to wake from sleep and he was found dead inside one of the base camps set up on the way to Dzuko,’ informed CM Biren Singh.
‘He died in the line of duty serving his people. His works and sacrifice for the State will ever remain as an inspiration to his fellow citizens,’ – CM Biren Singh said.

As per sources, there is no clear information on the cause of his demise, and the post-mortem report is awaited.
The mortal remains of the ASI, NDRF was taken to District Hospital Senapati today. Minister for PHED, Government of Manipur, Losii Dikho, DC Senapati, Kiran kumar, SP Pradip, CSOs, Officials & well wishers paid their tribute and condolences before the mortal remains was taken to his hometown in Imphal.
