Nchineileu Disuang laid to rest at her village in Beisumpuikam

Nchineileu Disuang, who passed away on train en route to Dimapur from Gurugram, laid to rest at Beisumpuikam village, under Peren

Kohima, May 24 (NE): The 23 year-old Naga woman, Nchineileu Disuang from Beisumpuikam village, under Peren district, who passed away in the train while returning to Nagaland from Gurugram in Haryana on May 22, 2020, was laid to rest in her village.

Nchineileu breathed her last at around 10:30 pm on May 22, 2020 on a Shramik special train arranged by the government of Haryana for the stranded citizens of Northeast India to return to their respective places.

The deceased was de-boarded at Kanpur Railway station for post mortem and necessary procedures. After completing all the medical procedures, her mortal remains were taken back to Dimapur in an ambulance sponsored by the CMO Uttar Pradesh.

The ambulance started from Kanpur on May 23, 2020 at around 11:40 pm and reached Nagaland gate, Dimapur, this afternoon at around 02:00 pm.

At Nagaland gate, her mortal remains was received with a short prayer by her family members, administrative unit, along with students’ union, village council, women society representatives from Beisumpuikam and others.

Further, the deceased was shifted to another ambulance sponsored which was sponsored by Shri Namri Nchang, Advisor Water Resources, GoN, to proceed towards her native village, Beisumpuikam under Peren district.

After reaching the village, final rites were performed and she was laid to rest. A short funeral was conducted according to the Standard Operating Protocol with limited number of people.

The two persons Era and Daniel, also from Beisumpuikam village who volunteered to de-board the train along with the body to take care of necessary arrangements, on arrival at Dimapur, were taken to quarantine centres after screening. Daniel is kept at Chumukedima DC complex quarantine centre and Era has been taken to Livingstone Foundation quarantine centre for mandatory 14 days Institutional quarantine as per protocol.

The LOP TR Zeliang condole the untimely demise of Nchineileu Disuang and also expressed gratitude to every organizations and individuals who rendered selfless support to the departed soul and to ensure that her remains be brought home.
