NBSE To Organise A Webinar On 'Learn How To Keep Your Child Safe Online'

Kohima, November 20 (NEx): Nagaland Board of School Education Kohima (NBSE), in a circular on November 18 2020, notified all Heads of Registered Institutions under NBSE to register for a webinar on the topic, “Learn how to keep your child safe online”, which is to be held on November 21st, 2020 at 7:00 p.m.

The Chairman of NBSE, Asano Sekhose in a circular said, ” The COVID pandemic has changed our lives and our ways of engaging with our children, nevertheless, all have stayed strong and resilient through these tough times. As educators, we have adopted online platforms to ensure education for our children in these unprecedented times. But as we engage children online, we also need to ensure their safety”.

“In this scenario, the board is pleased to organise a webinar in collaboration with Safety Troop, an Organisation working in the area of child online safety on the topic, “Learn how to keep your child safe online”. The webinar will be held on November 21, 2020 at 7:00 p.m”- unquote.

The webinar features expert Leah Plunkett, Author, Faculty Associate, BKCIS at Harvard University & special Director for Online Education, Harvard Law School and Dr Teena Augustine Joseph, Chief Development Officer, Safety Troop, NBSE informed.

The webinar will highlight on: ‘Tips to ensure your child’s identity is safe online,’ ‘Safe sharing practices while engaging on social media’ and ‘Challenges online while sharing personal information of children,’ it said.

The board requested all Heads of Registered Institutions to register for the webinar in the link (https://forms.gle/M1Y4PSZLAWUwRLPS8) and attend it positively.

Sekhose also informed that in case the Head of Institution cannot attend, a senior teacher can register to attend the webinar.
