NBSE Class 10 topper, Abhi Chakraborty scores 590/600: Aims to become a doctor

Kohima, May 30 (NE): Abhi Chakraborty, the topper boy for HSLC (Class X), Nagaland Board of School Education examination 2020, scored 590/600 marks to make it to the top of the rank table.

Due to the pandemic COVID-19 nationwide lockdown, the NBSE earlier postponed the result declaration and this time, it coincidentally fell on Abhi’s birthday. As he celebrates his 16th birthday today, the news about his top rank made his birthday more mesmerising.

Abhi is a student of Holy Cross Higher Secondary School, Dimapur. He secured 98.33% marks in the NBSE class 10th examination 2020. He is the son of Arun Chakraborty and Jhuma Chakraborty. He is from Dimapur and has a brother.

About his aim in life, Abhi said that he want to become a doctor, while his motto for success is to ‘Trust in God’.

A notification from the Re. Fr. Philip Yanpvuthung, Principal, Holy Cross Higher Secondary School Dimapur said, that the school management and staff accord healthy congratulations to Abhi Chakraborty for securing first rank in HSLC exam 2020.

The principal also thanked God for giving them a rare privilege of nurturing and grooming a bright student. God gave a wonderful student to the institution who would ever inspire students to learn with deep enthusiasm. I wish and pray all the very best to Abhi Chakraborty, he said.

He also congratulated the other eight rank holders (HSLC & HSSLC) of Holy Cross Hr. Sec. school.

The Principal also expressed gratitude to the parents of the first rank holders, teachers and well wishers for their constant support, and wished a hearty congratulations to all the rank holders of HSLC & HSSLC 2020.

Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has declared the results for board examination 2020 this afternoon at around 02:00 pm.

In Total, 22392 students appeared the HSLC examination 2020, which includes 2976 repeaters. Out of this, 15680 students qualified. Over all qualified students percentage for HSLC in Nagaland is 70.03%.
