Kohima, April 20 (NEx): The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) expert team visited Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA) for the evaluation of accreditation works in the institute which began from April 16-18, 2021. The Principal KPA, Er. M Nakhro informed that the evaluation was done both on offline as well as online mode and concluded successfully with a positive note.
The NBA Chairman, Prof. Ekram Husain also had a promising interaction with the Principal and faculty where he shared his observations about the strength and weakness of the Institute. Husain said he along with the experts team are satisfied with the central facilities of the institute and on the weakness side the chairman pointed out the lack of banking facility, poor road conditions and internet connectivity which he mentioned are the backbone of any Educational Institution and suggest the Principal to write it to higher authority and ensure that these deficiencies are attended to at the earliest.
Er. M Nakro also extended gratitude to Temjen Imna Along, Minister of Higher Education & Tribal Affairs for initiating the NBA works in KPA and also Advisor to CM, Technical Education & Election Medo Yhokha for extending his full support and his physical presence during the NBA Expert visit, Anoop Khinchi IAS, Secretary, Department of Higher and Technical Education, Nungsangmenla Imchan, Ex-officio Director, Technical Education and esteem Colleagues, Principal Government Polytechnic Seithekiema-C, Principal Government Polytechnic Kohima and representatives from other Polytechnics for their constant support throughout the NBA process.
Nakhro also extended sincere thanks to the Chairman Land donors union KPA and his colleague for the material supports, President All Sumi Students Union and his colleagues for their constant support and physical presence during the expert visit and Sumi NGO leaders and concerned individuals for their tireless efforts in the joint venture for the entire accreditation process. With all the support and efforts from various sections, the principal said he is optimistic and hopeful that the Institute will be accredited and will pave the way for upgrading Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA) into full fledged degree Engineering college soon, which is the long overdue aspiration of the Institute.
As per the NBA experts team it is disclosed that the results for KPA accreditation of any programs would be made within a month, he said.
All the NBA experts of their respective program namely Civil engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering gave their report on the strength and weaknesses of the respective departments at KPA as per their observations over the last two days of evaluation process and also suggested the areas where improvement is required for the respective department.
Earlier, on behalf of the KPA Institute, Er. V Julia Achumi, HOD Mechanical Engineering department gave vote of thanks and thanked the entire NBA Team and reaffirmed the stand to continue with the NBA process in the Institute to impart Outcome-Based Education and enhance the employability of the technical students in Nagaland. With this accreditation process, KPA has become the first polytechnic, under Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Nagaland to have undergone NBA accreditation process.
The online exit meeting was conducted and chaired by Prof. Ekram Husain NBA Chairman. Four NBA experts including Er. M Nakro Principal KPA, NBA Co-Ordinator KPA. HODs of all department and faculty attended the virtual meeting.
