Nagaland's Youngest District, Noklak Get Centre's Nod for '50-bedded District Hospital'

Kohima, June 25 (NEx): In a good news for the people of Nagaland and the youngest district Noklak, Union Health Ministry, Government of India has approved to set up district Hospital at Noklak. Government of India has approved to set up 50-bedded hospital in the Noklak.

The news was announced by the Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio through his official Twitter and expressed gratitude to Union Health Minister, Dr Harsh Vardhan, for approving 50-bedded district hospital at Noklak; the newest district of Nagaland.

“This will greatly help the citizens of the district to access quality healthcare services”, the Chief Minister added.

It is pertinent to note that Noklak is the youngest and 12th District of Nagaland which was formally inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio on January 20, 2020.

The first medical college in Nagaland is under construction in Kohima. Improving Nagaland’s Health sector has been on the priority list of the Central Government. The Government of India has also approved the setting up of the second medical college in Nagaland’s Mon district for which the foundation stone was laid by the Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan on February 26, 2020.
