Nagaland’s picnic day on the rivers; Churches observed New Year program – a report

Dimapur, January 2 (NE): Welcoming the New Year on January One midnight, Wednesday with crackers, annual picnic day on various rivers of Nagaland, Churches observed New Year program with special service, Nagaland welcomes a new year in style.

In this regard, families, relatives including friends and others are hosting their own picnics in different locations of Nagaland wherever the rivers can be seen. They are most popularly called picnic spots to create a memory for the year.

New Year services were held at respective Churches in Nagaland on date one. Apart from the services in few Churches, they held programs in picnic spots where even a small New Year program isn organized coinciding the picnic.

This way, according to Church members, they get an opportunity as outreach ministry among believers sharing God’s love through such platforms. If the picnics doesn’t end up with problems, then the day could be said as one peaceful day gone of 2020.

There were no casualties or cases of accidents until the time of filing this report on NagalandExpress.

Meanwhile, one among national highlights on the first day of the year is that the Government of India through Ministry of Railways has increased fare rates in all India level; SBI will start issuing an OTP for every transaction crossing Rupees Ten Thousand from it’s ATM booths all over India including Nagaland from today.
