Nagaland’s New Year to begins with a State Funeral Service: Present Speaker, NLA to be laid to rest at Kigwema under Kohima

Dimapur, December 30 (NE): The present Honorable Speaker, Late Engineer Vikho-O Yhoshu who has succumbed untimely today on December Thirty at Mumbai (Maharashtra) during the continued treatment of lung cancer will be getting a state funeral service as per the Government at his official residence, Kohima on January One, 2020.

Arrival from Mumbai on December Thirty One, tomorrow at Dimapur Airport.

The state funeral service at official residence on January One, 2020; followed by last funeral rite at Kimipfuphe Ground at Kigwema under Kohima district.

Nagaland government has issued a statement to observe 3 days state mourning in honor of late Vikho-o Yhoshu from December 30, 2019 – January 01, 2020.

The late Speaker was as a second time NLA under NDPP from Southern Angami – 1 Constituency.

Earlier, top leaders from Nagaland including His Excellency, the Governor of Nagaland & Chief Minister condole the untimely death, which will create a vacuum in Nagaland political arena as said by few among others, while sympathizing the bereaved family in this hour.

Meanwhile, office of the NPF Kohima Division, expresses deep sorrow over the untimely demise of the NLA Hon’ble Speaker, Late Engineer Vikho-o Yhoshii who was a man of high integrity to be respected by one and all.

The NPF added that “during this hour of grief, we are helpless to his precious life but May God Almighty grant eternal rest to his soul and give solace to the bereaved family members, near and dear ones”, unquote.

Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) President, K. Therie in his condolences message said, Vikho-o Yhoshii demise is irreparable loss not only to the family members but also, the people of Nagaland.

Temjen Imna Along, Minister for Higher Education and Tribal Affairs, GoN & Nagaland BJP President said, sincerest condolences to the bereaved family and specially to the NDPP party for losing a tall leader, humble and assertive. A Naga leadership whose vacuum shall be difficult to fill.
