Kohima, January 13 (NEx): Team Nagaland thrashed Arunachal Pradesh by 9 wickets to register their first win in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 clash at the Sri Ramachandra Medical College Ground in Chennai on Wednesday.

Winning the toss, Arunachal Pradesh selected to bat first and scored 145 runs with a loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. In return, Nagaland chased the score in 15.5 overs with a loss of one wicket.

Nagaho, Khrievitso and S S Mundhe took one wicket each for Nagaland. Four runouts restricted the Arunachal Pradesh score to 145 in 20 overs.

Chasing the total, Nagaland’s Chetan Bist and S S Mundhe hit half-century and took the team to a comfortable win against Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday. Chetan Bist (Not out) scored 50 runs in 37 balls and S S Mundhe (Not out) scored 69 runs in 47 balls. Nagaland Captain, R Jonathan C scored 20 runs in 11 balls.

Next match for Nagaland is against Sikkim on January 15, 2021.
