Nagaland: Woman found dead in paid quarantine centre in Dimapur

Dimapur, July 22 (NEx): A woman was found dead in a paid quarantine centre in Dimapur this morning, confirmed Dimapur District Surveillance Officer, Dr. Imtiwapang Aier.

Dr. Imtiwapang Aier said that the woman had arrived from Guwahati in the wee hours today. The woman was dropped till Dimapur by her husband who then returned back to Guwahati.

After completing the mandatory protocols at Agri Expo, she was lodged in a paid Quarantine centre at MP Road, Dimapur. She was unwell when she checked-in into the hotel (paid quarantine centre), and medical team was called in to check on her health condition, said Dr. Aier.

Medical team on their arrival went to her room at paid Quarantine centre. After knocking on the room door, the woman was not responding hence the team along with the hotel staff broke in and found her dead, he narrated.

Dr. Aier informed that the post mortem will be conducted after contacting the family members to ascertain the cause of death.

Further, a police official informed NagalandExpress that the woman is in her 30s approximately. The deceased is said to be an employee of textile department and a resident of Guwahati. (with input from AIR Kohima)
