Kohima, September 25 (NEx): The Government of Nagaland has allowed registration of BS-IV vehicles sold on or before March 31st, 2020, whose sales have been uploaded on the e-Vaahan Portal of the Central Government and the State Government and the registration of which could not be done/ completed due to the Lockdown.
The Transport Department in a notification informed this in continuation of Department’s Notification dated March 06, 2020, and in compliance to the judgement of the Hon’ble Supreme Court Order dated August 13, 2020 passed in the matter of W.P.(C) No. 13029 of 1985, M.C.Mehta v/s Union of India.
Last week, the Supreme Court (SC) granted relief to the automobile dealers in India by allowing the registration of BS-IV vehicles that were sold in March this year, but could not be registered due to the nationwide lockdown before the March 31 deadline. The court order released on August 17, further added that no registration of vehicles shall be made, which were sold inter se dealers during the lockdown period.
