Nagaland to celebrate Teachers day tomorrow; Governor R N Ravi and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio extend greetings to all teachers

Kohima, September 4: Teacher’s Day is celebrated every year on September 5 to honour Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary. He was India’s first Vice President and the second President. He was born on September 5, 1888.

Along with the rest of the country, Nagaland will organise a state level Teachers day celebration tomorrow at Kohima.

The state Teachers’ Day function would be held at NBCC Convention Center, Kohima with Chief Secretary, Government of Nagaland, Shri Temjen Toy, IAS as the special guest while Principal Director, Department of School Education, Government of Nagaland, Shri Shanavas C, IAS will give the welcome address.
Also Director, Department of School Education, Government of Nagaland, Shri Wonthungo Tsopoe would give vote of thanks.

There will be various special numbers along with speeches by different individuals to celebrate the day in respect of teachers in the state.
The state will also honor teachers by presenting awards in various categories.

On the occasion, Governor R.N Ravi extended his warmest greetings and felicitations to all the teachers of Nagaland. In a message, the Governor urged upon all the teachers both teaching the nursery kids to the Universities, through formal and informal institutions of learning, to always remember that they are the shapers and guardians of the future. He also call upon the teachers to assiduously maintain the integrity of their calling, which is the highest among all, by their impeccable personal and professional conduct and help Nagaland gain its long overdue glory.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio in a tweet has also extended his best wishes to all teachers on the occasion as they devote themselves for the edification of students. Rio said that teachers are invaluable to any society because they shape its future with the impact they have on students and are builders of their character.
