- Nagaland to celebrate first World Music day and Music Industry Stakeholders Conclave on 21st June.
Kohima: Nagaland for the first time will bring all musicians, artists, event managers, sound and light vendors, music institutes, production houses, performing Arts Institutes and Societies in one platform to celebrate State first World Music day and Music Industry Stakeholders Conclave on 21st June at Regional Centre of Excellence for Music & Performing Arts, Jotsoma.
It will be a day to celebrate the successes, raise concern, share problems and come up with solutions to help take Music and Performing Arts Industries to greater heights.
Addressing a press conference in Kohima yesterday (June 17), Project Director of Music Task Force, Dr. Hovithal Sothu said Music has been a part of the Naga people and with the celebration of World Music Day every year it is apt to organize the event in a grand manner.
Highlighting on the day’s event, Dr. Sothu said the celebration will be fun filled with various events lined up for the day. He said the day session starts at 11 AM, in which Advisor Youth Resources and Sports, Zale Neikha will address the conclave followed by workshops.
He said an open mic platform is also being organized where any artist can showcase their talents. The Project Director further said a concert has been arranged in the evening session.
Meanwhile, the event management team of the programme, Khyochano TCK said music donation drive is another feature of the festival where public are encouraged to donate their music equipments and items to help the less privileged music learners of Eastern Nagaland.
The event will feature 17 bands and 60 artists which includes young school children.
