Nagaland: Summer Vacation Extended Upto May 21st

Kohima, May 12 (NEx): The Directorate of School Education (DoSE), Government of Nagaland on Wednesday notified that the summer vacation declared for the schools in Nagaland has been extended upto May 21st, 2021.

The Principal Director, DoSE Shanavas C IAS informed that, the Summer Vacation declared to all schools ( both Government & Private) functioning within the State of Nagaland from April 30th, 2021 has been extended upto May 21st, 2021.

All hostels accommodating school students shall also be closed during the period of Summer Vacation, Shanavas notified. This is in pursuance to the Government order issued on May 11th, 2021, he added.

It is pertinent to note that an emergency meeting of the High Powered Committee on COVID-19 decided to impose total-lockdown in the State or Nagaland from 06:00 pm May 14 to May 21, 2021. The decision was taken on the backdrop of steep surge in COVID-19 cases and to prevent the spread of the disease.
